Front Rear 8 Sensor Back Up Sensor System W/ Lcd D Review

Front Rear 8 Sensor Back Up Sensor System W/ Lcd D
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was excited when I ordered this system. I chose to go with the most expensive system, thinking it was the best offered. My theory was wrong. My installer tried many times to contact the manufacturer to ask questions about installation directions. He had a very difficult time reaching any one and when he did, it was like pulling teeth to get an answer.
The system I purchased hadn't stated in the directions that it's wires were long enough for a car, but not a truck. I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra and was only able to set up the system in the rear bumper, thus buying an 8 sensor system and only able to use 4. The drill they sent was made for rubber / plastic bumbers, not for metal so after one hole, the drill bit was useless. The manufacturerer was also neglectful in mentioning in the directions that this system might not work with metal bumpers (thus the weak drill bit). After two days of trying, my insaller finally connected with technical support who explained that the holes will have to be a bit larger in the metal bumper so the metal will not interfere with the sensors. These holes had to be hand filed out. The sytstem is done except for the front and it seems to be working. Although, when they get wet, it gives a false reading.

Logitech Alert 750i Master System plus Alert 700i Add-On Camera Review

Logitech Alert 750i Master System plus Alert 700i Add-On Camera
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been trying to set up a remote monitoring system for a while now, and have experimented with a few different solutions including webcams and other stand-alone cameras. The same problems problems occur over and over:
- When the router gets rebooted, invariably you can't connect to the camera without going back and fixing some part of the configuration.
- Remote viewing through dynamic IP addresses is flaky, and many DDNS solutions don't work very well. And do you really want a static IP address just for this?
- You need a computer switched on near the camera, or a web-server that the camera can stream to. That's somewhat awkward.
- The image quality is so-so, and tends to be good enough to see a person entering a room, but hard to identify who it is.
I'm pleased to say that the Logitech Alert system beats any of the others I've tried hands-down, and it's clearly designed with absolute simplicity in mind, together with the need to connect with the camera system remotely without a degree in network engineering.
Everything is provided in the box, including various mounts, network cables and software. It took more time to individually unwrap each component than connect it together - the whole system was live in under 5 minutes. The software updates itself in seconds, and even setting up user accounts on their website took no time at all. In terms of positioning the camera, it's possible to place it on a stand, screwed to a wall, or attached to a window using the suction cup provided.
This package does several things (very) well:
- The software is extremely simple to use, yet offers some bells and whistles such as motion alerts by email, live recording and playback, and basic controls such as zoom. It's also written in English, and you'd be surprised how many other systems are not.
- It handles Internet disconnection gracefully with an on-board SD card, and doesn't need any user action to help it 'remember' any IP settings.
- Talking of IP settings, these are all under the hood so you can be blissfully unaware of how it works - which is such a major benefit that I'd buy this package for this alone.
- Viewing remotely through a desktop browser in another location is as simple as visiting the website and logging in.
- Viewing from a smartphone is even better. I used their free Android app, and the speed and quality surpassed my expectations.
- The audio broadcast is very clear.
- Adding additional cameras is straightforward, although you have to make sure your Internet bandwidth is capable of supporting the number of cameras you need.
- You can switch off the LED lights that might give away the location of the unit - what a nice touch.
But this package is NOT:
- A completely wireless solution: the camera connects to an outlet unit and communicates to your router with another outlet unit. Although wiring is really minimal, there is always the one cable needed on the camera side.
- A replacement for a multi-camera professional system - though it comes close, and for a fraction of the price might suffice for some commercial users.
- A way to spy on your neighbor's license plates across the road - why would you anyway?
Still, even with those caveats it's a remarkably good solution if you want to view a location remotely with a minimum of hassle.

This was very simple camera, to mount outside and it works like a charm. I bought this camera as a replacement for a set of camera that came with a security system. I mounted this camera above the door and then swing it to the parking lot. This image is great. At night it does much better than the old cameras. The IR really is bright. I will buy another one of these cameras.

Control Products MA-S01 Battery-Powered MiniAlarm Motion Sensor Review

Control Products MA-S01 Battery-Powered MiniAlarm Motion Sensor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a very reliable functional unit, easy to set up and use. Very loud siren and range of motion. Only the boldest of burglars will continue to prowl after this thing starts chirping. And if you set it a about the height of a 5' or over tall person, the DOG will NOT set it off. Very affordable alternative to the monthly security company units, unless you live in an absolutely horrible part of town, then I would suggest the Mossberg 500 .12 Guage cruiser with pistol grip!!

With emboldened thieves on the prowl these days, there's no quicker way to deter theft than with this portable motion sensor and break-in alarm. The MiniAlarm mounts to nearly any wall or sets conveniently on any horizontal surface; detecting any motion in the room and emitting a screeching 130-decibel alarm that'll give unsuspecting thieves a start--for the door.An easy way to scare off intruders without installing an expensive security system, the MiniAlarm Motion Sensor is a battery-powered, standalone burglar alarm that protects your home when you're away. Arming the MiniAlarm is easy, thanks to the included keychain remote. Once armed, the MiniAlarm uses a passive infrared (PIR) beam to detect movement up to 20 feet away. If triggered, the loud alarm blares for 30 seconds before resetting automatically. The remote also disarms the alarm. With its 30-second exit delay and 4-second entry delay, there's plenty of time to enter and exit without setting off the alarm. An added alarm output accessory can be attached to trigger the Deluxe FreezeAlarm system (sold separately), which can be set up to phone you and alert you of intruder break-ins. --Brian D. Olson

Scytek VisionGuard 8000 Security and Remote Engine Starter System Review

Scytek VisionGuard 8000 Security and Remote Engine Starter System

We purchased two of this for our cars. Within 2 months, all the video remotes failed. Then the LEDs failed. Then the sensors failed. Then the video tranmissions failed. Beware of the carbon fiber look. They are not carbon fiber. Just cheap plastic, designed to look like carbon fiber. The remote's fail so easily. Two of them also broke. This is not even handled by kids.
You can't call the company for support. They will force you to call some retailer, which is next to imposisble to contact, and they charge a premium for replacing items even under warranty.
The manufacturer don't respect any warranty. They're based in LA. You try to contact them with e-mail and they just ignored us.
We spend $800+ for both units and $200 installation charges of each of them. We could have just trashed $1000 into the waste basket.
Don't be decieved by the cool look and hitech promises.
The bad thing was that we put one of them on our most expensive/rare car and now we are forced to pull it out and trash it.
Our Alarm installer, just warned us, saying the product is pretty flimsy and the components are not good. But we just took a chance on it and regret it.
We just dont' want others to make such mistake by it's hitech looks.

This looked good for features and price when I bought it...but when it arrived the internal hard drive was not connected, the alarm would not stop sounding and there was no operator's manual, CD or reference material? I had a heck of a time to find out who makes this device and where to get service if needed is a bigger issue. When I finally got a user manual there is no reference to where to send to get repaired. The remote will not talk to the DVR unit and could be defective (batteries are good) so I am stuck with the initial settings. I get 16 pictures and some in B&W from Color being displayed from color cameras and that is an issue an other issue? Sure would have been nice to have an acronym list also.

Swann SW-C-SNO Super NightOwl 105 - Pro CCD Powerful Wide Angle Security Camera w/ Night Vision 82ft/25m Review

Swann SW-C-SNO Super NightOwl 105 - Pro CCD Powerful Wide Angle Security Camera w/ Night Vision 82ft/25m
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this item based on positive word of mouth however I am somewhat disappointed in the performance of this camera. The camera is advertised to have up to 82 feet of night vision although in a realistic outdoor setting (with almost complete darkness), I would say that objects (at night) can be adequately distinguished at most 50 feet away with this camera. The night-vision picture quality is passable with obvious noise and pixelation, even when some minimal ambient lighting is available.
The camera's build is sturdy and its appearance is actually a bonus for us in some settings since this camera doesn't really even look like a security camera but rather more like a lamp. Unsuspecting thieves would probably get caught red-handed by this camera simply because it blends in well with our other outdoor lighting.
Picture quality during the day is adequate for most purposes and is in line for a 420TVL camera. Calling this "high resolution" is a bit exaggerated though. I have personally compared 420TVL units that cost half as much but produce far better night-vision imagery (for example: Q-See QS2350C Weatherproof Color CCD Camera Kit With Built-in Heat Circulating Blower).
Yes, this camera does have a wider angle of view than most cameras however for us, image resolution is a higher priority and I'm afraid this camera just doesn't quite make it.
Bottom line: Pricey for what you get. Consider night-vision alternatives such as the Q-See Q2350C.
One important note: The IR LEDs will primarily focus toward the center of the image, which on your TV or monitor will produce a type of "flashlight" type image. Because this camera has a wide field of vision (although not panoramic unfortunately), any object not in the center field of vision will not show up as well under night conditions UNLESS you have sufficient ambient lighting. Depending on your situation, this may render the wide-angle view useless at night since you won't be able to readily identify people moving outside the lens's center field of vision.

We received our Sound Sentry XL on October 28th 2010 to use it to greet guests to our house for a Halloween party. It works great and is a lot of fun recording different sounds and having them play when people walk by. Now when we have a football party (TCU!!) we have it play then anthem when people show up! Hehe. They all get a laugh when they come in. Now onto Thanksgiving. We found that we can just stick it on the refrigerator and leave messages for the kids too! Just press the button and record your message and stick on the fridge. Kid shows up and hears it, simple. Great idea for just ~$20.

Didn't work, sent it back (thanks, Amazon).
I plugged it into an electrical outlet in the room next door, no connection (green "house" light not on). Tried in my office next to the router, still nothing, a flickering green house indicator. This is with the new DHP 1320 router, which works fine. I was on the support line for an hour, no luck (OK support). I plugged it directly into the router and could get to the IP address but no connection still. I gave up and returned it rather than spend my weekend fighting with a network.I'm waiting for more reviews to see if I was doing anything wrong. My guess would be that the DHP 1320 router is not broadcasting through the powerlines properly.

I've got a couple of these installed throughout my home. Takes only a minute to install and they work great. To be honest, I've only installed these into places where I didn't want to use the wall switch. So I can't vouch for the usability of the swtich itself. I use the remote to control the switches. These switches do dim, and they return to that same dimmed level after you turn on/off. These will work with your existing faceplate for a traditional wall switch.

Chamberlain Liftmaster 915LM Garage Door Monitor Review

Chamberlain Liftmaster 915LM Garage Door Monitor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had initially looked at the Skylink garage door indicator, but poor reviews made me look a little harder for another alternative. The LiftMaster is it. Instead of a magnetic push switch which is used on the Skylink, the LiftMaster uses a gravity switch to indicate the door is open or shut. Basically, when the sensor goes from vertical to horizontal, it sends a signal to the receiver to illuminate a red blinking light. We placed the receiver (AC powered) in our bedroom and it receives the door signals (CR2032 battery each) very well (about 200 feet through two walls). The receiver will not be able to differentiate between two different doors, but all I really need to know is if either is open...I could care less which one. The receiver comes with one transmitter and is significantly less expensive than it's Skylink competitor. Additional receivers are also significantly less expensive. If you have ever left your garage door open all night and woke up to missing bicycles or mowers, then this is the product for you. My kids are always telling me the status of our garage doors now. This is a great product.

Skylink VS-433 Vibration Sensor Review

Skylink VS-433 Vibration Sensor

We currently have the Skylink SC-100 system with the addition of 7 vibration sensors mounted on various windows. In operation for approx 1 month. While set to max sensitivity, banging on the window will trigger the alarm. Only issue so far - during the first thunderstorm of the season, a nearby lightning strike rattled the windows of our house, setting off the alarm. No other issues so far.
The concept of this sensor seems much more effective for window security than a contact switch as a burglar could break out the entire glass pane and not disrupt a switch.

I bought the TL74108 system and then found out AT&T doesn't sell additional handsets to expand this system. Well I bought the TL71108 system that comes with three handsets for about 76.00 at Best Buy. Deregistered all the handsets in both sets and registered them to the TL74108 and now I have a system with 4 handsets! I purchased the TL71108 at Best Buy because on the box is says it needs the same model handset as my TL74108 system says, to get additional handsets. My guess is the model TL70008 is just an unregistered phone. The owners manual tells you how to deregister the phones and how to re register them to the phone base. If you lost the owners manual you can get it online at the AT&T web site. Hope this help people out there wanting to expand their system! I am happy with the phone because I like the intercom system in has.
