I bought this remote hoping it would mean I could use it to open my car doors from at least some distance away. As it turns out, it doesn't unlock the doors till I'm pushing the button while only about 3 feet from the car. What good is that? I may as well just put the key in the lock! I tried putting a new battery it in, but it didn't help. My recommendation? Don't waste your money on this.

Spectorsoft Spector Pro Software Review

Spectorsoft Spector Pro Software
Average Reviews:

I bought Spector Pro 2010 directly from SpectorSoft. I bought it in Dec and didn't get around to installing it until mid-Feb. Over two weeks on one of my PCs, it did a decent job though I found the User Interface to be a bit clumsy. Having not paid attention to the licensing agreement, I then installed it on a second PC. The next morning I got an email from them informing me that I had infringed on the licensing by installing on a second system, and my choice was to pay $69.95 more, or remove it from the second system. After shopping around a bit more, I found another application that I picked up for the same price, it included TWO licenses, and it is far superior. I called SpectorSoft and asked if I could get a refund (they told me it had been running two weeks on my first PC). NO REFUND. I asked if I could sell my license on ebay and recoup some of the $99 I paid for it. NO LICENSE TRANSFERS. Oh wonderful! I paid $99 for software that I don't even own. The only thing these guys care about is collecting cash, and the application that was less than half the price is MUCH better! Don't believe it when SpectorSoft says that theirs is the best. NOT SO!!!

Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker for 1995 Chevrolet Suburban With Do-It-Yourself Programming. Factory Replacement. Review

Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker for 1995 Chevrolet Suburban With Do-It-Yourself Programming. Factory Replacement.
Average Reviews:

My Suburban came with no remotes at all, and I got the feeling it had factory keyless so I ordered this on the chance that it does... turns out it did and this works great! Programing is VERY easy, like 20 seconds easy.
This remote is very thin and that I like. The chain is kind of flimsy and I can see it breaking very soon in my pocket, but that can be fixed with a different keychain setup. The included instructions were spot on, and very easy if you have a Chevrolet of this vintage. I do think its priced way to high to only get one remote, and on top of that not get free shipping. I mean think about it, I can buy an entire keyless entry system with module, relays and TWO remotes for less than this one remote costs.... Price for convenience I guess.

4UCAM PAN / TILT Handheld 2.5" Color Video Baby Monitor and 2.4GHz Wireless Camera - Day & Night, Video & Audio Infant Nursery Monitor Review

4UCAM PAN / TILT Handheld 2.5 Color Video Baby Monitor and 2.4GHz Wireless Camera - Day and Night, Video and Audio Infant Nursery Monitor
Average Reviews:

I purchased this system to monitor my infant in a crib and my 2 year old in a toddler bed.
Both share a bedroom.
With this cam I can pan back and forth between the two sleeping kids (from far away) to check on them from anywhere in the house.
The night vision capability is the most crisp and clear of any system I've owned.
I've had Safety 1st, Summer Infant and Sylvania baby monitors prior.
All were only available in black and white resolution and were not portable monitors.
The Safety 1st($200) and Summer($100) monitors blew out in less than a year.
The Sylvania still works, but lacked picture clarity at night and sometimes would transmit an annoying clicking sound due to mystery interference.
I have never written an online review before, but was compelled to write this one.
I had one small problem with the unit and 4uCam called me to rectify it immediately (while they were on vacation!)
I highly recommend this camera system, and suggest that you get the rechargeable battery pack and the AC adapter so you can plug it in or roam with it without having the power dwindle out.
Any interference is always made worse by weak batteries.

Siemens Gigaset A49H Extra Handset for A495-series Cordless Phones Review

Siemens Gigaset A49H Extra Handset for A495-series Cordless Phones
Average Reviews:

This item is for the "Siemens Gigaset A49 Digital Cordless Phone with Digital Answering Machine", but when I ordered it, what I actually got is the "A49H" which is an "expansion handset for gigaset cordless phone." Which means that without that existing gigaset base station, this item is useless. There is nowhere to plug in the phone line cable, for instance. The item description has the wrong reference (A49 instead of A49H) and describes the thing as a stand alone phone, which it is not.

Uniden TRU8885-2 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Phone with Dual Handsets and Answering System Review

Uniden TRU8885-2 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Phone with Dual Handsets and Answering System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been wanting to get a 5.8ghz phone system for a while, but all previous models seemed to always have some kind of major shortcoming. Seems Uniden recognized this and came out with a model to beat all previous ones.
The 8885 and 8865 models are newer versions of their old 5860/85 lines. It has pretty much any feature you could want.
Just to highlight some of the strong points:
1. Nice phone design. Perfect size and not as ugly as the previous model.
2. Perfect reception. Anywhere in our house the phone is crystal clear.
3. Speakerphone in the base and from every handset.
4. Intercom/Paging between phones
5. 100 number phonebook (although it shares entries with callerid). You can keep separate phonebooks per phone, or download the phonebook from other phones.
6. DirectLink mode, where you can use the handsets as walkie-talkies. Although in my opinion the phones are a tad too big to carry around with you everywhere, but it might be nice for specific situations. I haven't tested the range though.
7. You can have the base + 2 handsets speaking on the line at the same time. The previous model was limited to 1 handset per conversation.
8. Customizable ringtones - can assign a certain ringtone to a certain caller so you know who they are. Can only use the builtin tones though.
9. Handsets have a plug to use with a headset for handsfree operation
10. Can access the voicemail from any of the handsets, not just from the base.
Those are just some of the major features, there's plenty of other little bells and whistles to configure the phone.
My only 2 complaint is that incoming caller ID gets stored on every phone. There is no way to just delete it from all phones at once. You need to go to each phone individually to delete the callerid list. Fortunately there is a delete all option.
One other potential complaint is that you can't set up separate mailboxes on the answering machine. I know some of the other brands let you do this. No biggee for me as I wouldn't use the feature anyways, but might be important to some.
Those might just be nitpicks though. This system really exceeded my expectations and I give it the highest recommendation possible.

The TRU8885-2 from Uniden is a cordless phone with a built-in answering machine, caller ID compatibility, and expandability to 10 handsets (model TCX800). It comes with two handsets, one that recharges in the base unit and another that recharges in the included remote charging cradle. That latter requires only an AC outlet, so you don't have to worry about additional phone jacks.
By using the less-cluttered 5.8 GHz frequency, the TRU8885-2 is able to offer a clearer, more intelligible signal than older phones operating on lower bands. Caller ID/call waiting compatible (requires subscription through your local phone company), the TRU8885-2 holds up to 200 numbers in its internal caller ID/phone directory (100 on the base, 100 on the handset), while the display-and-dial feature allows you to quickly scroll through the caller ID list and dial the displayed number with the touch of a button. Ten speed-dial presets allow you to easily call the most frequently used outgoing numbers, and an alphabetical search feature provides an easy way to locate numbers stored in the internal memory.

Handset and base speakerphones provide a hands-free communication method, while a direct link mode allows you to use the handsets as walkie-talkies. Four-way conferencing allows several phones to communicate with an outside call. An intercom function enables communication with other phones on the same system, and the call transfer feature lets you transfer calls from the base phone to the handset and vice versa.
The all-digital answering machine has a 12-minute maximum record time and a four-minute maximum message length. A conversation record feature provides a quick and easy way to save important information such as directions, while full remote operation allows you to check your messages even when you are away from home. A page/handset locater feature makes finding a lost handset quick and painless. Handset and ringer controls let you adjust volume levels to your liking, while the redial button automatically calls the last three outgoing numbers. The TRU8885-2 also comes with a one-year limited warranty.
What's in the Box Base, two handsets, remote charging cradle, two battery packs, two AC adapters, one telephone line cord, two belt clips, user's manual, and warranty information

It's a lot cheaper than purchasing directly from Honda, but it turned out to not be worth the savings. The remote worked intermittently for the first four months, and then completely stopped working, even when I replaced the battery. I contacted the company for a refund several times and never heard back from them. Finally Amazon stepped in and credited a refund to my account. Man I love Amazon customer service.

Cisco Aironet 1231 - wireless access point ( AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 ) Review

Cisco Aironet 1231 - wireless access point ( AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 )
Average Reviews:

This access point does require a little bit of "know how". In fact, there are technical classes you can take on this access point. The material is 800+ pages. I am a techy and I prefer this access point above all others. It transmits the bests signal, it provides the most secure options, and fall back repeater mode if you have multiple. The attenas available to purchase are numerous for so many different topologies and deployment strategies. This access point is a business line access point, not a consumer line access point. The previous comment was from an individual who obviously doesn't know much about wireless. It is the best access point on the market in my opinion. For business use, it is the only one I will use.

Lorex LNE3003 Wireless Color Remote Easy Connect MPEG4 IP Network Camera Review

Lorex LNE3003 Wireless Color Remote Easy Connect MPEG4 IP Network Camera
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The documentation for this product undersells the product.
As a Mac user, Internet Explorer and ActiveX is not an exciting proposition, which the other reviewers point out. However, you don't need IE or any other software beyond the basic Mac installation to make this camera do its thing.
You will, however, need to know how to find the camera on your network. The camera ships with DHCP enabled, and you need to go your DHCP server (such as your router) and find the IP address that corresponds to this camera. This means looking at the most recently assigned IP address shortly after you plug-in the camera, or comparing the Ethernet hardware address with the entries in your router's DHCP logs.
The above isn't easy for a networking novice, but intermediate or advanced users can probably sort through this. I assume the softare that gets installed serves to find the camera, based on the directions, but I didn't use it.
Once you know the IP address, you can point FireFox or Safari to that IP address and login as admin/admin. From there, you can stream the live feed with QuickTime. The video quality is amazingly good--Far better than the built-in iSight on my MacBook Pro. For the camera quality and integration with standard protocols and tools, this camera really shines. You can also integrate the camera with email and FTP without requiring a computer, which is the whole point. The web UI is fair at best--it's a little clunky, but functional and consistent. For remote access where bandwidth might be limited, the right decision was probably made to keep the UI light.
The camera itself is well-constructed, but it's not going to win any beauty pageants. It's functional, which is perhaps all that is needed of a security camera. The base, arm extension, and a ball joint enable a number of mounting options, but you may find yourself needing to build a custom bracket for specialized positions.
There is a port on the bottom for connecting an external speaker to use the camera as an intercom--I am guessing that use case does require software, but I didn't investigate it first hand. There's also some remote access services that I didn't explore either, but would clearly be handy for the network novice user who doesn't want to deal with static IPs, port forwarding, or FTP.
Overall, the build construction, the ease of use, and the incredibly good quaity video warrants 4 stars. However, the lack of crisp, clear documentation and discovery software that precludes using a Mac when it should not costs the camera 1 star. It is a good product, if you can get through the initial hurdle. The camera exceeded my expectations on video quality, but was about what I expected otherwise.

SPECO 30519361309 2-Way 3 Channel Wireless Intercom System Review

SPECO 30519361309 2-Way 3 Channel Wireless Intercom System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This intercom was purchased to replace several baby monitors that would not cover the 1,500+ range adequately and to be able to use a "talkback" feature. We were expecting a great product that would allow us to monitor a room on the second floor from the first floor.
There are a few features that do not work well. The "call" button does not make any sound as the instructions claim it should. The "talk" button works, but it is very difficult to hear the person speaking. In order to be heard you must speak within an inch of the machine and speak loudly. Using this intercom as a "monitor" which was the purpose of the purchase did not work well at all. Just like the "talk" feature, the person you are monitoring must be within an inch of the intercom and making quite a bit of noise in order for you to hear anything. It appears to have voice activation, which was something we did not want and avoided when purchasing other monitors.
I would not recommend this product for use as a monitor.

Camera and software was easy to set up, but even though I have tons of bandwidth and nothing over taxing my CPU, video was still very choppy and jerky. Tried contacting HooToo, but thye offer no support for their camera. I have a feeling it's made for them by some fly by night company. No luck seraching for any support or firmware updates. Wish I would have invested a little more money in a better name brand camera that offered better support.
