I was looking for a DIY alarm system that uses GSM dialer since I don't have a landline. The reviews seem to be good for these kind of systems from AAS, except from a few reviewers. I decided to go with the most expensive one because I wanted to have the extra sensors, wireless sirens, and remote keypad. Here are the pros and cons:
Pro:
1. The instruction manual is very easy to follow. You can request a soft copy of the instruction manual before you buy the system.
2. It is a two-unit system. One is the main unit and the other is the GSM dialer. This design is more flexible. If I decided to get a landline later, I can use the main unit to connect to my landline.
3. Communication with the seller is easy and quick.
Con:
1. As other reviewers mentioned, the delay time to arm the system is in minute increment. Note, if you use the remote keyless to arm the system, it arms the system immediately. The delay only works if you arm the system from the main unit.
2. When alarm activated, the sensor number that triggers the alarm only displays on the main unit for 30 seconds. Then, it disappears. I wish that it stays there until I erase it so that I know which sensor triggers the alarm.
3. Not cheap.
Tip: The double sided tapes on the sensors do not hold well. I use velcro instead and it works better. This will allow me to easily remove the sensor from the door/window to change the battery at a later date.
