(More customer reviews)After looking at many other phones I decided to go with this one. I was originally looking at at Panasonic because it has an eco mode feature but found out through another review that their eco mode was a complete JOKE! What this phone description does not say is that it too has an eco mode. Once turned on it reduces radiation by 70% when you're on the phone and when it's off the charger. When you place the phone back on the charger the radiation is about 0% Check out their website if you don't believe me! Many other DECT phones (basically EVERY DECT phone!) emits radiation 24/7! Even while placed on the charger and while you use it. It emits more radiation than a cell phone. Also, where do most people place the 2nd handset.... right on their night stand.... so yes, you are getting radiation while you sleep. I have two young children. 3 years and one is 4 months so I would like to reduce the most radiation in our home as possible. Other reviews stated how difficult it was to set up but I'm not sure what they are talking about. I seriously had no issue. One thing is that when dialing it's like a cell phone. You push the numbers and then the call button just like a cell. One thing that I don't like about this phone is that the handset and base have different rings. I also have not been able to figure out if I can put the phone in the bedroom on silent so the phone in the living room only rings. But I will take those two minor issues considering there is no radiation. The phone is also made in Germany which I was surprised about since most are all made in China. I feel that you might as well give this phone a chance to see if you like it because of all of the benefits. Make sure you turn ON the Eco friendly mode though. If you don't like it than you can always return it. I bought mine at Best Buy in black. I just wasn't too hot on the white.
"All modern (DECT) digital cordless phones emit the same type of pulsed microwave radiation (about 1.8 GHz) as ordinary (GSM) mobile phones. Emissions can be about 6 V/m within a metre of the base unit, for as long as it is plugged in. These base stations emit their radiation even when the phone is not in use. All DECT base units emit microwaves continuously 24 hours a day as long as they are plugged in. For this reason cordless phones are regarded as bad news" - from [...]
