(More customer reviews)These $6 'cameras' have a menacing bright flashing LED. They look real. The LED can be turned on/off but I'll bet a pair of AA's will keep the LED flashing for a looooong time. For grins & giggles I outfitted mine w/ a dummy wire leading from the dome camera to logical places to route electricity to. I keep them mounted high and out of reach to prevent curious thieves from investigating their authenticity. Another bonus is they look very similar to real dome cameras. So you can mount a bunch of fake domes, have a couple real ones, and it's hard for the bad guys to tell the difference.
Now the down side. I bought 4, and all 4 had the black glare hood dohickey installed crooked. So if you want it to look right, you get to disassemble the thing w/ tiny screws and interior springs and reassemble it. [Hint: a little dab of superglue keeps the springs in the right place when you reassemble it]. Also, mounting is a bit tricky. You need to mount 2 screws (included) precisely 3.000 inches apart and oriented in the right way to get the camera pointing the right direction. Kind of a PITA. Otherwise this would be a 5/5.
