(More customer reviews)The biggest reason for me not to purchase another ID Vault is the annual subscription. You know the annual subscription that is mentioned in the advertisement. Oh, I'm sorry you didn't read the fine print that mentions a subscription fee. Well here is the FAQ from the company web site about this subscription.
10: The first twelve months of the ID Vault Subscription Service are free. How much does it cost to renew my subscription? Can I still use ID Vault if I don't renew?
Although the first twelve months of the ID Vault Service are free with the purchase of ID Vault, you must renew your ID Vault Service subscription in order to be protected by our guarantee beyond the one-year period from the date of purchase. The ID Vault Service gives you access to our Trusted Network of more than 7,000 financial sites that we constantly monitor to provide you with advanced phishing and pharming protection, any updates to the ID Vault Trusted Network, and free ID Vault software updates and upgrades.
The subscription ensures uninterrupted access to the ID Vault Trusted Network, along with continued free software updates. After this initial twelve-month period, the cost to continue your subscription to the ID Vault Service is $39.95/year.
If you choose not to renew your subscription to the ID Vault Service, you will no longer be able to use ID Vault to access financial institutions in the ID Vault Trusted Network. And of course, our guarantee no longer applies because you no longer have ID Vault's hardened security protecting you when you bank, shop and invest online. You will, however, still be able to use ID Vault to access your non-financial accounts, such as email accounts. And, of course, you can always access your financial accounts without ID Vault, but you will not have the protection that ID Vault offers.
