(More customer reviews)These alarms are very basic and really only act as "stand alone" noise makers when the two parts of the unit are separated when a door or window is opened. We installed these on the doors and windows on the dark side of a house that we inherited after a neighbor saw someone attempting to break in (it is apparently well known that the house was unoccupied since my father passed away) and we only needed something that would be loud enough to get some attention from the folks in the area. Here are my observations:
+ Easy to Install; these need to be installed fairly flush, one part on the frame of the door\window and one on the movable side (we used layers of double stick tape to shim up the two parts, very easy)
+ Easy to Use; really very intuitive
+ Loud; these are loud enough for my needs of getting the neighbor's attention
+ Inexpensive; these are more than reasonably priced
+ Includes Preinstalled Batteries
While a professionally installed networked alarm system would be far superior for most homeowners, this set more than met needs and exceeded my expectations for the price.
